Never Restored 1950 Chrysler Windsor 4-Door Sedan
One owner since 1976. One owner before that back to 1950. Painted in 1977.
Spitfire 6 Engine re-built in 2004. Engine machine work professionally done. New
TRW forged aluminum pistons. New clevite tri-metal bearing shells. New valves.
New oil pump. New timing chain and sprockets. New Old Stock crankshaft dampener.
New Old Stock camshaft and lifters. NOS water pump, NOS radiator. NOS choke.
Runs great. M-6 Prestomatic semi-automatic transmission works great. Needs a
new 6-volt battery and a brake master cylinder before use.
This year (1950) Chrysler introduced Cyclo-Bonded brake shoes, a safety
padded dash, key start ignition doing away with a separate starter button and
the turn signal switch was fully integrated into the steering column. There is a
fold down arm-rest in the back seat and built-in foot rests. This car has the
top-of-the-line heater option, and top of the line push button AM radio and a
Jaeger electric clock.
This car has a tight front end, a powerful re-built engine and will cruise
all day long on the highway with four souls on board in comfort. If you are
caught out in the rain the two speed electric windshield wipers do a great job
of keeping the windshield clear and the fresh-air heater keeps the windows clear
of fog and the cabin at a comfortable temperature.
